Surprisingly O.K.
after nearly fatal times
summoned up
as sanguineous dust
from perfunctory
mumbles structured
like cunning glimpses
of physicianal blips
with minimal credibility

Feeling remarkably well
after shifting attention
from the background
to the foreground
nudging the focus
in and out
with exhausting
and exhilarating
regularity
while tuning out
the sounds
of now and then

As a jaundiced look
at the subliminal muddlement
of backward masking
seemingly spared
from foot-dragging tactics
and hair-raising plans

By brainwashing
everything
with nerve-racking
washed out views
of luminary newbies
as fleeting clean ups
of family histories
drinking heavily
with bulging cheeks
squaring off all the more
as hoary longtime
backslides in quick time...
